The Company was established in 1976 by a group of young, dynamic, technocrat entrepreneurs headed by Mr. M. V. Gokarn who had varied experience in top multinational companies.
It was the first unit to come up in the Belavadi Industrial Area on the outskirts of Mysore. It had a technical collaboration with M/s Pingeot Bardin SA of France which was a leading supplier to Michelin. Commercial production commenced in April 1978 with an annual capacity of 3 million valves and 4 million cores. Today the installed capacity has grown over 10 fold. The Company assumed market leadership in the early 90’s which it has been sustaining ever since.
